The Importance of Ultra Violet

Most people who are concerned about the quality of their drinking water use filters that will improve its color, taste and odor.  This is easily accomplished regardless of the source of the water and its contaminants.  However, of vital importance, is to treat the millions of living organisms that exist and thrive in all water sources.  Filters in every case, merely trap the contaminants and do not render them harmless.  In fact, if you think about it carefully, the filters can become a great breeding source.  Every filter will allow a certain amount of “bleed through”.  This means that no matter how fine the filter may be, a certain number will pass through.  Bacteria and viruses are extremely resourceful little buggers and have survived since the beginning of the universe.  Fortunately, many years ago, scientists developed a commercial use for ultra violet rays.  During the past decades, the use of ultra violet rays have risen in importance and many new products have been developed to broaden its use and availability. Ultra violet rays inactivates 99.99% of microorganisms in water including Giardia and Cryptosporidium.  Ultra violet does not kill bacteria it destroys the outer shell and prevents replication.  Neat, clean, safe and simple.  UV is included in all of our water vending machines as well as the appropriate filters.  We use UV  lamps that have an output of 50% higher then required by the FDA to insure maximum treatment.  Nothing is added to the water when using UV. It is environmentally safe, and our system requires no maintenance and creates an immediate disinfection action.  An ideal product well suited to its task.
